[quote:d74823ce23="archana landge"]1) obstruction of stomach by cold fluid is yin syndrome under certion condition it turn yin to yang or vice versa please explain the certain conditions.
2)what is roustral and coudal ?
3) what is meant by floating yang yang, clear yang, pure yang, and what is difference bitween this?
4) in chapter 1-section1-2.4 please explain this sentencein terms of clinical case."if the mutual wax and wane of yin and yang represents a process of quantitative change , then the mutual transformation of yin and yang denotes a qualitative change which is based on the quantitative change.
5) chap1 sec1 3.2 what is the meaning of "yin is even well whileyang is firm" and a meaning of clammy limbs?[/quote:d74823ce23]

Answers:
1). If the patient prefers spicy food and drinks alot of alcohol, the cold syndrome could be turn into heat, so the patient will suffer from some manifestations of Yang heat.

2). They are [b:d74823ce23]"rostral" and "caudal"! [/b:d74823ce23]They cvan be found in the English dictionaries, rostral is the adjective of "rostrum", meaning the "mouth of a bird", and caudal from "cauda", meaning the "tail".

3). Usually there is not a saying of floating Yin, but floating Yang could be a terminology for one specific situation of pathology in traditional Chinese medicine, meaning the Yin and Yang are not well coordinated so the Yang floats from the Yin. This will be described in course B in details.
Since Yin is of substantial, so it is not called Clear or Pure either. Then there is only clear or pure Yang. The clear Yang means the Yang is not stained by the pathogenic factors, especially the Yin factors, such as dampness, phlegm, or blood stasis, or food retention.
The pure Yang is even clearer than clear Yang, Of course I'm joking. Pure Yang mostly denotes the comparison between Yin and Yang, so it means the Yang is not yet mixed with Yin, or sometimes there could be a saying Pure Yin, it doesn't mean the Yin is very clear, but rather it's not mixed with Yang.

4). As we have just mentioned, the case that cold fluid obstructs the stomach could explain the transformation from the Yin to Yang, so the patient would suffer from some opposite symptoms and signs, could you please tell me what a patient will complain of when he's got an acute gastroenteritis? That's the qualitative change from Yin to Yang.
While in contrary, a patient who suffers from high fever, which cannot alleviated, will suddenly turn into the situation of coma, cold extremities, cold sweating, etc. That's the qualitative change from the Yang/heat to Yin/cold.

5). Literally, when Yin is even and well, so the Yin is not deficient, neither excess, hence it will couple the Yang and won't let the Yang to float; while the Yang is firm, it is not loose, so it is in good balance with the Yin, so it won't fly away.
Then, physiologically, the body's Yin and Yang, the physique and the functions will be in good balance. Then the person could be healthy, could endure the physical and mental pressure, and could work efficiently and even more than the others.

That's my understanding for your questions, Archana
