For sure we cannot!!!

Ear acupuncture has only been about 50 years, but the body acupuncture has been about five thousand years.

Body acupuncture could be good for acupuncture anaesthesia for such operations as intracranial tumor, pneumonectomy, cesarean section, etc.

Can ear acupuncture be so good?

Body acupuncture can be effective for treating more than 100 kinds diseases, could ear body acupuncture do that?

Dear Tommy,

Although ear acupuncture does not form part of the Medboo TCM course, I would take the liberty of suggesting in this forum some web-based resources which I have used myself. (Even though eventually I have not found this type of therapy particularly useful, you may try it for yourself).

As far as I know, one of the main uses of ear acupuncture at present is the [i:9a0a8e1a1e]NADA[/i:9a0a8e1a1e] (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association www.acudetox.com ) protocol to treat chemical dependency (drug addiction, alcoholism, and a variety of mental disorders). They have a 70 hours comprehensive certification course with [i:9a0a8e1a1e]thousands and thousands[/i:9a0a8e1a1e] of practitioners trained worldwide, but the ear acupuncture technique itself is [i:9a0a8e1a1e]so simple[/i:9a0a8e1a1e] that you can actually learn it in a few minutes. It has been described, among others, in the article [i:9a0a8e1a1e]The Ease of Treating Addictions with Acupuncture[/i:9a0a8e1a1e] by Dr. John Amaro http://www.chiroweb.com/archives/10/18/14.html and in the article ([i:9a0a8e1a1e]in Spanish[/i:9a0a8e1a1e]) [i:9a0a8e1a1e]Acupunctura y Desintoxicación (segunda parte)[/i:9a0a8e1a1e] by Humberto Brocca and Sandra Tovar Curi in [i:9a0a8e1a1e]LiberAddictus[/i:9a0a8e1a1e] (PDF, 19 kb) http://www.liberaddictus.org/Pdf/0411-34.pdf .

The rest of the links follows. [i:9a0a8e1a1e]I would appreciate it if you could also post or send me the links you may have in relation with the questions asked in my other posts in this forum[/i:9a0a8e1a1e].

My post in answering Tommy was probably not quite clear!

I meant ear acupuncture [b:322c5f0b24]cannot[/b:322c5f0b24] replace body acupuncture, [b:322c5f0b24]I didn't say ear acupuncture is not effective[/b:322c5f0b24]

For sure ear acupuncture is also effective and useful in treating some diseases.

But body acupuncture is much more important. That's the truth.

So, I focus much more on body acupuncture myself, but no objections to the use of ear acupuncture.

Hi, Where is D.K.?
Didn't see him for a while.

I think ear acupuncture is used to treat alot of diseases but only several ones are more effective with it. Personally I prefer it for headache, insomnia, some allergic disorders, and asthma. Of course it's also good for some cases of chronic pain.
Indeed some foreign people won't accept the needling of acupuncture, so the ear acupuncture might be of good help.
I wonder why the foreigners are so different from the Chinese, they are looking strong, but they cannot tolerate such a small needle. They often say the Chinese are weak and small, or even called us the Asian sickman, but we could easily take the needles.

For sure to those who fear the needling very much we have no choice but use the acupressure on the ear points, yes of course with the vaccaria seed, which is commonly used in acupuncture clinic in China.
