Dear Dr. King,

In the text on " The Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming". the acupoint Renying, it states:...treating hyperthyroidism in combination with Neiguan (PC 6), Zusanli (ST 36), Shenmen (HT 7), and Sanyinjiao (ST 6 ??)" I just wonder whether Renying can combine with some other acupoint(s) for the treatment of hypothyroidism?

Your views and comments, please.

Thanks.

Dear Chenkc,
Yes, for sure it can be a good point for hypothyroidism, so generally speaking, some tonifying points can be combined such as ST 36, SP 6, KI 3, DU 14, BL 23, DU 4, RN 4 and 6, etc.
Besides, other points could also be combined according to the patients symptoms and signs.
Every acupoint has the action to deal with the disorders in the local region, so Renying could be taken as a good local point for the disorders of the thyroid gland.
