Tutor,

1) 3.1. Explaining the tissues and structure of the human body

To compare the heart and lung, the heart is Yang and the lung is Yin.

The heart is surrounded by lungs. So the lung should be Yang and heart should be Yin. But the statement is different. Kindly explain in what aspect the heart is stated as Yang and lung as Yin.

2)  3.2. Explaining the physiological activities

It is known as "Yin is even and well while Yang is firm, hence a relative equilibrium is maintained, and the essence and spirit will be in normal state.

What is mean by Yin is even and well and Yang is firm?

Thanks

Dear Nagaraman,
Let’s discuss your questions!
1). What do you think of this question? But I think you might review the quality or the character of Yin and Yang! Then you might have a good understanding. What are the qualities or natures or characters of Yin and those of Yang? Then you could compare the two organs. Please do understand, the heart is not the interior of lung, they are independent organs, respectively!!!

2). Please go to find the meaning of the words even and firm first and then write me to tell your opinions about these words and your understanding about the meaning of this sentence. Then we could discuss it more.

By the way, do you know my Mebo email address? tutor@ontcm.com

Hi,

First off in the western world the yang and yin could be called homeostasis.  It is the bodies way of maintaining balance. A yin organ such as the lung is reciver and store of da qi (air). Whereas the heart is also a yin organ. I am kinda confused by the question.

I think you do need to review the characters of Yin and Yang, and then go to compare them with the heart and lung, so you might know which one is more Yang.
But you’d better answer me to my email box, tutor@ontcm.com
