Questions on Chapters 1-2

I have the following questions on Chapters 1-2.
1. Chapter 1-Section 3-Para 1.3 Effects of 4 Natures (Page 4)
The text says "warm and hot herbs have the the effect of inducing diuresis, but it also says cold and cool herbs can induce diuresis to treat stranguria ... Does this mean that both cold and hot herbs can induce diuresis?

2. Chapter 2, Section 1, Purple Perilla Leaf, Page 5.
This herb is pungent in flavor and warm in nature. In the Modern Researches para on Page 5, the text says:" The herb has a mild effect of clearing heat". Normally only a cold herd can clear heat; how this warm herb can clear heat ?

3. Chapter 2, Section 2, Mulberry Leaf, Page 5.
Several herbs such as Mulberry Leaf can clear heat and improve vision. Can these herbs improve vision for near-sighted or farsighted eyes ?

Dear Nam,
It's my understanding of the questions you have mentioned herein.
1). Yes, it is! So you can review the course B and see how the stranguria be caused. There should be the cold syndromes and heat syndromes for this case.
2). Since it's pungent and warm, so the text says:" The herb has a mild effect of clearing heat". Mind it, it has only a MILD effect of clearing heat.
Please also review the description on the actions of the natures and flavours of the herbs, and see what the pungent and warm ones should work for. Do they have the effect of inducing sweating? or in another word the opening effect?
3). They are good for the eyes, but they are really working for the near-sighted or farsighted eyes, otherwise there will be no such problem in China.
They can be good to deal with other eye disorders for sure.
In general, they are working mostly in a rather slow pace in treating eye disorders.
