Dear Wilson,
Yes!
In fact, in China there HAVE BEEN indeed sucn clinical trials and it has claimd successful.

But I never treated any cases of narcotic-dependence so I cannot tell you more details.

So sorry for not telling any useful information.

Best regards

From what I understand, in the West those clinical trials have not been so successful.

There have been several systematic reviews published on using different forms of acupuncture for this problem, supposingly including all relevant clinical evidence of acceptable quality available at the time, all with negative overall conclusions.

Edward J Mills, Ping Wu, Joel Gagnier, Jon O Ebbert. [b:07a6ce6b66]Efficacy of acupuncture for cocaine dependence: a systematic review & meta-analysis[/b:07a6ce6b66]. [i:07a6ce6b66]Harm Reduction Journal[/i:07a6ce6b66] 2005, 2:4 doi:10.1186/1477-7517-2-4. http://www.harmreductionjournal.com/content/2/1/4
[quote:07a6ce6b66][b:07a6ce6b66]Conclusion[/b:07a6ce6b66]
This systematic review and meta-analysis does not support the use of acupuncture for the treatment of cocaine dependence. However, most trials were hampered by large loss to follow up and the strength of the inference is consequently weakened.[/quote:07a6ce6b66]
Gates S, Smith LA, Foxcroft DR. [b:07a6ce6b66]Auricular acupuncture for cocaine dependence[/b:07a6ce6b66]. [i:07a6ce6b66]The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews[/i:07a6ce6b66] 2007 Issue 2. Art. [quote:07a6ce6b66][b:07a6ce6b66]Authors' conclusions[/b:07a6ce6b66]
There is currently no evidence that auricular acupuncture is effective for the treatment of cocaine dependence. The evidence is not of high quality and is inconclusive. Further randomised trials of auricular acupuncture may be justified.[/quote:07a6ce6b66]

Dear Sergiy,
I don't know the details of this subject, but I also heard of that acupuncture does work for the coccaine dependence, for sure auricular acupuncture alone won't work so well.

Maybe David knows more about it.
