Question about lung

Good day tutor and everyone who reads this post!

In chapter 2, section 1, point 2.2, it says: "When the lung fails to protect the surface of the body, there may be frequent spontaneous respiration." Respiration means breathing, thus i think there is a typing error, shouldn't it be "transpiration"...

If not, please explain because we all breathe frequently and spontaneously, specially when asleep...

It should be perspiration
