Question about Qi and Blood relationship.
It is still not evident to me that blood is mother to Qi.
It seems to me, that they are equal to each other in terms
of action, much like Yin and Yang.
Perhaps it is meant that like wood giving rise to fire,
more blood also gives rise to more Qi. But at the same
time does not Qi give rise to more blood?
So then also, Qi is mother of blood. For instance,
for blood to circulate well, Heart Qi must be also good.
So, I see the two as being more related just from support
and consumption, which goes into more of a Yin and Yang
relationship, rather than a Mother to child relationship.
So, for the answers given, it seems to me that each does
its own thing, and yes they are related, but insofar, that
they each do their own thing properly? They are both
dependent, yet independent. So for labeling according
to the answers given, it is not a readily apparent choice.
Please elaborate. ?
Qi in another image.
I've studied some forms of meditation from a group called Brahma
Kumaris. There, it was taught that we are the souls, and not the body.
In Buddhism, it is different, there is actually no concept of self, or soul.
In the Brahma Kumaris form, it was felt that the soul entered the body,
and managed the soul like a person manages an automobile. The soul
exists in the body as the body's controller and is actually considered
to be located in the midbrain, at the middle eye level, or the 3rd Dan Tian.
Does TCM have a view of this?
So then, we come to another question. Sometime after studying with
Brahma Kumaris, I had to question what made life. If the soul controls
the body, then perhaps this is also a question of what Qi is. So, I
questioned, and found myself in a Biology course, and fascinated with the
inner workings of bacteria. A bacteria is so sophisticated, that when
something invades the colony, a single bacteria may intersect the portion
of DNA from the invader. It then creates an antibody DNA piece, and a
replica and through its ability to pass DNA molecules to other bacteria, it
does this, and so spreads the antibody to the other DNA, and is able to
fend off the invading entity.
How does the bacteria do this, with such communication, how does it know
what to do, to defend itself, how does it know how to assist the other
bacteria, how do other bacteria know this one has the answer?
This to me seems to be where Qi plays its role. It is a communication
link. Further, by seeing the way bacteria interplay, it seems as though all
of this communication is happening within the DNA. I say this, because
the bacteria is hardly composed of anything else but DNA. So what else
could give it the cooperation spirit?
And how do individual entities, like individual bacteria, or individual
humans (on a much larger makeup) then decide to make the next step to
assemble? Will humans develop a capacity such as bacteria to transfer
DNA, even without some exterior intervention tool? But something that
is, say, a vestigial (originating from a previous evolutionary form) organ?
Or does something in the development of Qi, somehow create this, if we
seek it enough?
