Dear Wilson,
Yes of course the motor neuron diseases are treated in China with traditional Chinese medicjne!

The extra meridians are also more or less taken into consideration in treatment of diseases.

But I don't think the internet is the right place to learn all these experience and knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine, maybe you should come to China and learn some more pracitical knowledge of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine.

Dear Tutor
There are some books and doctors wich call this meridians of "wonderfull meridians", and they use their points every treatment, alone or toghether with others points. For example:
Lumbar pain: Du mai (houxi)
Gynecological disease: Ren mai (Lieque) and Chong Mai (Gongsun)
Insomnia : Yin Qiao Mai (Zaohai)
Do you thing the points of extra meridians are so effective?

Dear Wilson,
I don't agree with them!!!

I saw many famous experts of acupuncture in China, but nobody would only use these extra meridian points (Eight Confluent Points) in their acupuncture treatment!

Of course I myself would not only use the Eight Confluent Points in treatng my patients.

If these points could deal with everything, I think all the other points could be given up.

Certainly if these Confluent points are combined with others, that's another story.

In fact, in the textbooks of acupuncture in China, no matter nowadays or in old time, it is suggested to do the comprehensive treatment, with multiple ways of prescribing acupoints!!!

Besides, acupuncture differs from herbal materials, i.e. the needling techniques or manipulations are also very important, this factor should be never ignored.

For sure this is my individual opinion, I don't mean the others' opinions are not right, I have no right to look down upon the others' experience or knowledge.

Dear Tutor
I agree with your view point. I In my own pratice this point (eight confluents points) don´t has this "wondewrfull action". I think your action is like others acupoints, and the treatment is not better when these points are used. As in lumbar pain, I don´t see better if Houxi SI 3 (Du Mai) is used. Here in brazil some school of acupuncture, mainly france method, teacher about extra meridians like Wonderfull.

Dear Wilson,
If you think what you are doing is right, so just hold it and don't let the others' opinion influence you negatively.
