Title: type and flow of qi

Dear Tutor
I have got two questions

1. Is there a difference between the qi that flows in the yin meridians and the qi that flows in the Yang meridians?

2.What is the direction of qi flow in yin and yang meridians of hand and foot?

Best regards
Saho

Dear Saho

1). Generally speaking, the meridians would circulate the Qi through the whole body, so there shouldn't be much difference of the Qi in Yin and Yang meridians.
However, each meridian pertains to its pertaining organ, so it would manifest the functions of that organ, I mean the Qi in a certain meridian would show the feature of its pertaining organ. Or we shouldn't forget the connecting organ as well.
While to think of the needling techniques, usually it is stated that the Qi in the Yang meridians is comparatively more superficial while that in the Yin meridians is deeper. That decides the needling depth and force.

2). I think the text tells clearly the running direction of the merdians, so the Qi flows along this direction.
