Title: symptoms of meridians

Dear Sir:

The text dedscribes the traveling route of each meridian and also gives a list of Symptoms, but what does it mean by "symptoms"? Is it symptoms of disorder in the meridian, or just symptoms that can be treated with points on the meridian, even if the meridian itself is not disordered? Most of the Symptoms seem to relate either to the organ itself or the route of the meridian, but not all of them.

For example both the Stomach and Bladder meridians list "mania" as symptoms, but I thought "mania" indicated a problem in the Heart organ. I dont see a connnection of the meridian directly to the heart, but do some of the points indirectly affect the heart? Or am I completely misunderstanding something?

Thank you

Dear Ed,

The symptoms here for the running courses of meridians mean the ones which would involve the meridians where the pass through and the functions of the organs to which the meridians pertain.

So as you mentioned mania, it's the problem of the head, so both the meridians are originated from the head, thus the symptom.

I think at the very beginning of the introduction of the meridians, it tells the functions and indications of the meridians, maybe you didn't read that part.
