Dear Tutor, I understand the statement "A rapid pulse may also be induced by outward floating of deficiency-yang." to be cold (deficient yang) escaping from the body. Is this correct. If so what is forcing it to escape? What makes the resulting pulse rapid, large, weak and empty. Wayne

Dear Wayne,
The exact sentence in course B is:"A rapid pulse may also be induced by outward floating of deficiency-yang."
Did you ever see how the water is running from a outlet?

Dear tutor, Thank you so far. So this deficient yang is coldness escaping? Am I right in thinking that as coldness escapes like water from a tap, the pulse increases because of the excitement?

Dear Wayne,
What is Yang? Is it fire or water? So is it cold or hot?
Please make sure about it!

The rapid pulse is not because of the excitement, stupid you, hahahaha (kiddking you, don't be angry with me!), it's because of the rapid flowing of the water!!!

Dear tutor, I know Yang is hot, but in the body isn't deficient yang cold? Doesn't the cold predominate in such a case? As I understood it, deficient yang causes cooldness, because there is more yin, and yin is cold. If the yang is hot when it escapes, why isn't just plain yang escaping, rather than deficient yang? It's more complicated than what you understood!

Very often when the Yang is collapsing or escaping, it's not really because the Yang is becoming insufficient, rather it's the conflict between Yin and Yang.

This is not what you are learning here in this distant course!!!

You must find a good face-to-face course, to learn it with a teacher in a class.

It's not this easy to learn traditional Chinese medicine!!! Or everybody will be a great master of TCM!

Dear tutor, Now I can appreciate the meaning. Obviously the Yang is being forced out because it is not strong enough to fight against the qi and when the qi leaves the body, the heart beats faster, like water running through a tap. Regards, Wayne

It seems you are taking it a little by little now.

It's not really because the Yang is not strong enough, it's the conflict and the nature or property of Yang as well.

Please think what is Yang?
What's the difference between Yin and Yang?

Dear Tutor, Would it be that conditions are strongly favouring Yin and Yang is escaping?

What do you think?

I think the text tells about it. you can review it a bit.

By the way, when is it easier for the pipe to become rusty? the water is running or no more water running in it?
