Chapter 4: Formula for releiveing Exterior Syndrome.
<p>Dear Tutor, <br />I found there are some similiaties herbs formula that can treat influenza, <br />
common cold, allaying down fever, nascal discharge etc... <br />

like mahuang tang and guizi tang, mahang tang is said to be more <br />
powerful than guizi tang. <br />
<br />
besides that, there is a herbs formulas for Strengthening the Body Resistance , and Relieving Exterior Syndrome called baidu san. so i think instead of using mahuang tang or guizi tang to relieve fever. using baidusan is better because baidusan not only relieving exterior syndrome but also strengthening the body resistance. am I right? <br />

In fact that's what I said it's not so easy to learn traditional Chinese medicine, especially the herbology! <br />
<br />
The formulas therein are more or less similar, for sure; but the slight difference of each and everyone make them for quite different situation. <br />
E.g. as you said Bai Du San, in fact majority of patients with exterior syndrome cannot be treated with this formula, for at that time the major aim of treatment is to eliminate the pathogen rather than strengthen the body resistance, so to avoid the firece fighting in your body to prevent the severe damage of the organics of the body. <br />
