essential qi

Dear Tutor,

Are essential qi and primary (yuan) qi the same? I believe so but I would like to get a confirmation.

In this case what is the difference between kidney qi and primary qi? My understanding is that kidney qi is related to kidneys functions while primary qi is the substance circulating in the body. Basically they are the two side of the same coin. Or not?

Thanks

Regards

Luigi

Dear Luigi,
In fact the essential Qi in the text doesn't only mean the primary Qi stored in kidney!!!

it also means the nutrients in the food and drink!!! I think the text tells very clear about it.

Besides, you could review the text about the Qi and see what is primary Qi is.

And then the kidney Qi as well.

Of course the kidney Qi is referred to the kidney function.
What about the primary Qi? Does it also mean the kidney function?
