Patent Medicines and formulas given
<p> Dear Tutor,</p><p>Of all the formulas we are given, are many of them in patent medicine form, so as to save the mixing and preparation of the actual herbs themselves?</p>
<p>Also I note many practicioners use herb extracts. Are these combined in the same proportions as is given in our formulas?</p> <p>Dear Wayne,</p>

<p>I should say some of the formulas given here in the course F are made into patent products, some are not!</p>
<p>But the patent ones are much less effective than the decoction by the raw materials.</p>
<p>Nowadays some practitioners would use the extracts, but it's very hard to say how they made!!!</p>
<p>I'm not quite sure about the proportions of the materials in these extracts, for that's the commercial secret of the manufacturers.</p>
